The People Engagement Experience (PEX) team is looking for a passionate and customer-obsessed designer to design hiring and rehire experiences on A to Z. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners and cross-organizational UX teams who are innovating the user experience for Amazonians across the globe. Your work will have a direct impact on the lives of millions of Amazonians.

You're an innovative self-starter with a relentless focus on doing what’s right for customers. You have a proven record of setting a vision and leading partners towards that vision. You must have high judgement, high ownership, and a strategic big-picture thinker. You must demonstrate effective collaboration through your engagement with stakeholders and partnering designers and raise the UX bar for this domain. You have proven the ability to lead your team to succeed in a highly ambiguous, fast-paced environment.

Key job responsibilities

  • Define, design and deliver end to end employee experiences
  • Define, develop and socialize a clear vision for design innovation and big thinking while not sacrificing speed of delivery
  • Work cross-functionally to drive elegant design solutions from early concept through final implementation and iteration
  • Use data and customer insights to confidently present and defend design solutions with senior leaders
  • Bring deep expertise in UX design (frameworks, interaction models, prototypes, research), helping weigh the impact and tradeoffs of decisions, and seeking input where needed to drive alignment
  • Use systems-level design thinking to drive design solutions from your team that scale
  • Develop and implement processes and identify opportunities for improvements that drive quality and efficiency to help accomplish more
  • Model behavior that exemplifies Amazon Leadership Principles in your team and raises the design bar for the organization
  • Drive adoption of design systems, mechanisms, best practices, processes, and tools

We are a multidisciplinary team creating truly meaningful products and experiences that empower and connect millions of Amazon employees. Our team consists of designers, researchers, and writers, and is diverse in terms of educational background, gender, race, and skills. Your team will be based primarily in Seattle.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of design experience
  • Have an available online portfolio
  • Experience acquiring user data (e.g., conducting usability studies, performing user research) and creating personas and journey maps

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience applying scrum to visual or UX design processes
  • Experience with UX design of complex workflows

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $113,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $211,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
