We are looking for a Sr. PWB/PCB Designer to join our Shelby team!

As our Sr. PWB//PCB Designer you will, owns all ECAD (electrical computer aided design) aspects of electronic hardware design from proposal to sustainment, typically for aerospace applications. As a member of the electrical and software engineering team, be closely coupled with electrical hardware design engineers, and other departments as needed, to implement the tangible output of the team’s vision. Management of a rigorously controlled component database and libraries and ECAD processes can also be anticipated. Creativity and latitude expected to resolve problems of diverse scope while being detail oriented.

Your Challenge

  • Design and perform layout and routing of digital and analog high-density multi-layer printed wiring boards (PWBs)
  • Implement clean/legible documents including circuit schematics used to create printed wiring boards (PWB) and assemblies (PWA), the PWB, and PWA itself using Altium within boundaries of internal processes
  • Capture test setup schematics, parts lists, and wire/net lists to support test/verification needs
  • Conducts and/or participates in design reviews and releases documentation
  • Utilize understanding of aerospace electronics design process including industry and internal design standards
  • Leverage experience in generating ECAD content for analog and digital embedded switched-mode power electronics applications for both new and sustaining projects
  • Maintain existing component database and associated libraries and modification of them to suit changing needs
  • Coordinating with design engineers, implement and maintain internal design processes
  • Exercise creativity and flexibility in applying ECAD solutions based on previous experience from implementation of electrical designs in rugged environments
  • Appreciate and demonstrate a sense of urgency while adhering to high-quality output standards
  • Review vendor experience and capability to support product development
  • Work with vendors to resolve manufacturing issues

What You Bring

  • Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent, with 10+ years of experience, specifically using Altium.
  • Due to the nature of work performed in this role, incumbents must be a US citizen. Security clearance is a plus.
  • Experience in the development of airborne electronic hardware is a plus.
  • CID certified is a plus.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with knowledge of MS Office.
  • Creativity, innovation, and commitment to excellence with the ability to work in a diverse, fast paced environment.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Customer focused with a bias towards action.
