The Opportunity:

Avantor is looking for a Sr. Human Resources Generalist to provide support to the Sales and Customer Service HR Business Partners and partners with their respective functional business leaders and associates to implement key HR processes and programs.

This role is responsible for assisting in providing strategic HR support in the areas of employee relations, compliance, diversity, performance management, HR analysis, organizational development, career development and employee engagement.

This is a full-time, remote position.

What we’re looking for

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master's degree preferred or current enrollment in a graduate program
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in Human Resources
  • Demonstrated interest and aptitude for personal learning and HR career development.
  • Shown ability to build relationships with both internal and external customers.
  • Strategic thinker that can manage the tactical day-to-day HR activities, but still implement proactive HR strategies to ensure a productive, engaged, and positive workforce.
  • The ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal/written communication skills, and attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently, take initiative, maintain relationships and be able to work effectively and collaboratively with all levels within the organization.
  • Demonstrated business acumen and the ability to understand business strategy and goals.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, advanced Excel knowledge and HRIS systems.
  • Previous experience with Workday a plus.
  • PHR, SHRM-CP, and similar certifications preferred.

How you will thrive and create an impact

  • Primary responsibilities and focus of the role are providing day-to-day employee relations support to functional leaders and associates, provide training, and administer HRIS tasks.
  • Assists the HRBP to implement key strategic HR processes and programs.
  • Helps support and champion organizational change and talent initiatives as necessary.
  • Provide guidance and support on HR related matters including performance management, leave administration, policies, and compliance.
  • Conducts employee relations investigations and facilitates effective communication and collaborative problem-solving strategies to prevent or resolve employee relations issues.
  • Partner with the HR Centers of Excellence (COE) such as Total Rewards, HR Operations, and Talent Management to ensure the successful roll out of initiatives and day to day operations.
  • Supports leaders with talent management processes such as goal setting, providing appropriate feedback during performance appraisals, and assists in creating individual development plans in support of a performance driven culture.
  • Creates HR analytics to identify trends and opportunities; assists HRBP to develop strategies and tactics based on those trends.
  • Participates in functional staff meetings and provides HR insights on business issues when necessary.
  • Assists in projects and/or participates as a project team member on company-wide HR initiatives.
  • Assists in implementing Avantor HR policies and procedures as well as monitoring the effectiveness of these programs. Assists assigned functional teams with the understanding of these programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Pay Transparency:

The expected pre-tax pay for this position is

$75,000.00 - $124,000.00

Actual pay may differ depending on relevant factors such as prior experience and geographic location.
