Job Description

Primary Function of Position

Reporting to the VP of People Growth and Engagement, the Sr. Director of Talent Management is a critical Center of Expertise (COE) leadership role responsible for the design, development and global execution of talent management processes and practices. This role will be responsible for key talent functions, including executive talent and succession planning, onboarding processes, performance management and talent mobility. Successful performance in role will including partnering with executive and HR leadership to develop talent strategies, processes and practices that build and strengthen our global leadership pipeline and increase overall performance accountability with transparency at Intuitive. Processes will be designed to deliver optimal experiences in an effective and efficient manner.

Essential Job Duties

  • Establish talent philosophy, principles, and policies to enable effective implementation of global talent management solutions.
  • Establish, optimize, and lead succession planning and talent review processes necessary to build and strengthen our bench and pipeline of leaders, focusing on critical roles with highest impact.
  • Manage executive 360 and coaching engagements, leveraging internal and external capabilities to support development of successors and high potential leaders.
  • Define and manage executive assessment and selection processes, including key psychometric assessment tools used for selection and development of VP+ roles.
  • Lead our global onboarding process and team to deliver exceptional employee onboarding experiences, including executive onboarding solutions (e.g. new leader integration)
  • Oversee our global performance management processes to drive greater performance accountability and outcomes, including effective individual goal setting practices.
  • Partner with Total Rewards and Talent Acquisition COEs to optimize and manage talent mobility practices, including annual promotion processes.
  • Partner with the Talent Development COE to support career and organizational development processes.
  • Lead regional team of highly specialized Talent Management professionals who design and deploy global processes within EMEA, APAC and North America

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

  • At least 15 years of experience of relevant experience (designing, developing and leading talent management functions, processes, or related HR solutions), including at least 3 years at a global level.
  • Experience as lead talent partner for C-Suite and other critical executive leadership positions, including strong partnership with strategic HR Business Partners.
  • At least 8-10 years of people leadership experience.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and influencing skills necessary to collaborate and influence at the highest levels of the organization.
  • Effective decision-making skills as demonstrated across a portfolio of solutions or services.
  • Solid program and process design experience to design and optimize talent solution or processes.
  • Change leadership experience implementing a new global solution or process.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, success and thought leadership in key elements of talent management practices.

Required Education And Training

  • Bachelor’s degree plus requisite years of experience.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to work remotely and onsite, including during business travel

Preferred Skills And Experience

  • Executive coaching certification
  • Relevant experience supporting a global med-tech or technology-oriented company.
  • Experience optimizing talent processes in Workday (e.g. Succession processes, talent pools, etc.)
  • Strong analytic skills with ability to analyze data across multiple functions or organizations for greater talent insights.
  • Use of AI or other automation tools for use in talent processes.
  • Advanced degree in field of study preferred (e.g. Masters of Organizational Development or Organizational Psychology, MBA, etc.)

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The target salary ranges are listed.

Base Salary Range Region 1:$244,000 - $366,000

Base Salary Range Region 2: $207,400 - $311,200

Shift: Day

Travel: 25% of the time

Workplace Type: Purposeful Onsite - This job requires being onsite for leader-defined events and activities which could be monthly/annually. Onsite frequency may increase based on business need.
