Overview

We are looking for a Part-Time Social Copywriter in Los Angeles to help drive creative and disruptive marketing efforts across all brand-owned social media channels, through supporting the execution of social media and community copywriting. We are looking for a strong writer that’s obsessed with beauty and social media. The Social Copywriter will report into the Editorial Director and will collaborate closely with the Social Media Team to optimize copy to meet product marketing objectives, develop hooks, as well as elevate storytelling and brand voice. You’ll need to be extremely creative, collaborative, and open to feedback.

What You’ll Do

• Write compelling and creative copy across brand-owned social touchpoints and contribute to 360° brand storytelling ideas, including writing for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, video scripts, paid media, among other touchpoints
• Build community on socials by engaging with and posting open-ended conversation openers on public facing comments
• Keep a thumb on social trends and tapped into the conversations happening across all the different platforms, not to mention you’re acutely aware of the differences among TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and Pinterest and know exactly how to write for each of them
• You understand how copy enhances the paired visuals
• Work with social media team, designers, and art directors to create high-performing visual-verbal storytelling
• Have flexibility of writing tone with a consistent brand voice
• Optimize copy based on feedback
• Own and enforce our social style guide
• Be cognizant of legal copy regulatory requirements to flag and liaise with Legal and PD to ensure that copy meets all legal and regulatory requirements
• Prioritize SEO Copy when possible
• Proofread to ensure copy is spotless and error-free across all channels
• Respond to incoming comments in brand-voice on all social channels daily (Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Threads, etc),

• Exceptional writing, grammar, and proofreading skills are a must
• A passion for beauty, makeup and social media. You are in tune and follow the trends, influencers, and brands to be able to push the conversation forward in the industry
• Strong passion for customers and community & therefore the ability to spark social conversations
• Be a high energy go-getter, who’s got a positive, friendly attitude
• Strong work ethic with exceptional project management & organizational skills
• Meticulous attention to detail and an ongoing commitment to achieving high-quality results
• Well-versed in social media platforms and have a deep understanding of platform tools (ex. TikTok and IG stories features, etc)
