SUMMARY


Victory Live is seeking a dynamic and results-driven SVP (or VP) of Business Development for Sports/Venues/Institutional Affiliates to spearhead revenue growth through strategic partnerships and business expansion. This senior-level executive will play a pivotal role in achieving revenue objectives by forging content distribution relationships with rights holders and securing institutional affiliate partnerships. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of industry experience, a robust network, and a proven track record of business development in the sports and entertainment sector.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cultivate and manage a high-quality pipeline of new prospects within the sports, venues, and institutional affiliates space. Identify key decision-makers and organizations that align with Victory Live's value proposition.
  • Nurture and expand existing partnerships by developing strong, lasting relationships with partners. Collaborate with existing clients to maximize revenue and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Design and execute go-to-market strategies and initiatives aimed at soliciting and securing new partners. Develop comprehensive plans to target and approach potential partners effectively.
  • Lead in structuring and negotiating deals between Victory Live and partners, ensuring that key deal points and performance metrics are clearly defined and met.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to create compelling pitch decks, proposals, and other marketing collateral that effectively communicate Victory Live's value proposition to prospective partners.
  • Act as the face of Victory Live at meetings with prospects, established partners, tradeshows, and other industry engagements. Effectively communicate the organization's vision and capabilities.
  • Provide regular status updates to the C-suite and the Business Development team, keeping stakeholders informed about progress, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Work closely with customer success, account management, and technology teams to gather insights on customer requirements and develop product features that drive profitable outcomes for partners.
  • As Victory Live grows, mentor and manage account executives, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team culture.


ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS

  • Strategic Sales Expertise: The ideal candidate should have a strong background in strategic sales, with a focus on content distribution and institutional affiliate partnerships. Prior experience in forging relationships with rights holders, teams, leagues, and venues is highly desirable.
  • Network and Rolodex: An extensive network within the sports and entertainment industry is critical. The ability to open doors, secure meetings, and make introductions will be instrumental in driving business growth.
  • Secondary Market Knowledge: Familiarity with the secondary market, including ticketing and distribution dynamics, is advantageous.
  • Technology Proficiency: A solid understanding of technology and its role in the industry, especially as it relates to yield management and distribution, is a significant plus.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree required, master’s degree or MBA highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 10 years of sales experience within the sports and entertainment industry.
  • Demonstrated success in sponsorship, ticket, or hospitality sales.
  • Extensive understanding and working knowledge of ticketing functionality, including ticket providers, gained through 10+ years in the sports and entertainment industry.
  • Strong leadership skills, with a proven ability to recruit and build high-performing teams.
  • Familiarity with Victory Live's market, products, players, and technologies.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and other relevant business software.
  • Adept team-builder and manager.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including strong presentation skills.
