As a Senior Strategist, you will help manage one of our top priority client partnerships in entertainment. You will be responsible for setting the strategic vision for new and returning primetime TV shows, acting as a thought partner to senior clients. We are seeking individuals with a creative and entrepreneurial drive and excitement to work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is passionate about all things television and culture. But most of all, they are someone who is ready to become a Spoon - to give a damn, try anything, and enjoy the people they are working with.


We are open to hiring for this role in our NY or LA office.


Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day strategic client needs across multiple projects, including new business.
  • Craft the strategic brand approach for new and returning TV shows based on a deep understanding of their larger business goals, category dynamics, audience behaviors, and technology/platform advancements.
  • Be/become an expert in the entertainment space, demonstrating a deep passion for TV and comprehensive knowledge of competitive networks and streaming platforms
  • Synthesize and interpret qualitative and quantitative data to form actionable insights and translate them into strategic recommendations (i.e. show positioning, tune-in strategies, target audiences, etc.). The data to analyze includes pilot and concept testing, Nielsen ratings, consumer viewership behaviors, competitive research, social listening, cultural trends & signals, and more.
  • Organize and translate findings from multiple secondary sources into a clear, concise and compelling presentation of insights that solve business problems and inspire creative executions..
  • Craft strong, concise creative briefs and strategic narratives that identify opportunities for audience and culture-led ideas.
  • Play an active role in the implementation and execution of strategy.
  • Facilitate the development of creative ideas designed to solve a specific business problem.
  • Collaborate with team members and effectively partner cross-departmentally with media, creative, experiential, and account during various phases of a project.
  • Stay up to date on the latest cultural and audience trends, industry news, and emerging tech and know how it applies to our industry and the client’s business


Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in brand strategy or marketing at an advertising agency or comparable environment (i.e. network, streamer, studio, etc.)
  • Experience developing program positioning and tune-in strategies for new or returning TV shows and franchises highly preferred
  • Experience leading or significantly contributing to the process of writing creative briefs and managing creative development through launch
  • Passion for TV and entertainment: both as a consumer (you love watching and talking about TV shows) and as a marketer (you know the landscape and audience behavior trends)
  • Ability to demonstrate expertise of creating a range of brand building and campaign elements, including a brand purpose, brand positioning and campaign messaging.
  • Experience and interest in both quantitative and qualitative research, demonstrating a high level of fluency with audience data and research tools (e.g., Simmons, GWI)
  • Experience in managing a high volume of quantitative & qualitative inputs that inform robust strategic narratives, insights, and data backed recommendations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (written, visual and verbal), across a high volume of internal & external stakeholders of various levels of seniority.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and be resourceful, flexible and quick to adapt in a fast-paced environment.

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $90,000 - $115,000. Salary is determined based on a wide range of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, job duties, and geographic location.
