Senior Planning Engineer

Location: Carmel, IN; Eagan, MN, or Little Rock, AR

As a Senior Planning Engineer, you will have the opportunity to conduct power system analysis studies that support MISO’s generation interconnection queue. Additionally, you will coordinate and interact with interconnection customers and transmission owners, engage in process improvement initiatives and project management, and take ownership of specific processes.

Within one year as a Senior Planning Engineer, you will be successful if:

  • You gain a thorough understanding of MISO’s generation interconnection queue processes and related studies. Using this knowledge, you initiate process improvements and enhance team efficiency.
  • You create and deliver impactful presentations that accurately assess our evolving generation fleet.
  • You collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, departments, leadership, internal committees, and respond promptly to external stakeholders.


Our successful candidate will possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree in, electrical engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering technology, electrical and computer engineering, electrical and electronic engineering or electronics and computer engineering technology.
  • At least four (4) years of related power system planning or operations experience


While not required, it would be advantageous to possess:

  • Several years of related experience with power system analysis software such as PSS/E, MUST, TARA, TSAT, and VSAT.
  • Previous energy industry experience.


Appropriate level will be determined based upon experience and knowledge.
