Senior Operations Manager

The Senior Manager of Operations provides strong and direct hands-on leadership to Operations and Distribution staff to focus on Customer Satisfaction and Operational Efficiency using thoughtful planning execution, effective communications, dynamic and responsive organization, and accurate execution of commitments. Critical to success in the role is the ability to meet customer expectations while managing and improving line efficiencies, lead-time, reducing waste, reducing "bottlenecks", improving material utilization, improving internal project due dates to assure the meeting of customer due dates. This key impact role will serve as strategic and tactical business partner within the organization and change agent by directing planning and execution methods while maintaining and optimizing the efficiency, quality and safety of the production process.


Job Responsibilities


Operations

  • Lead the charge in achieving impactful results while prioritizing the safety of our team, maintaining product and service quality, and ensuring timely delivery with efficient cost and inventory management.
  • Be a change agent in Daily Management to get results through Safety, Quality, Deliver, Inventory and Productivity.
  • Apply Gemba techniques to champion and extend our Continuous Improvement and Lean Culture.
  • Ability to empower and inspire a team through effective communication, both upstream and downstream.
  • Collaborate with HR on organizational and talent development, talent risk management, and succession planning initiatives.
  • Conduct regular reviews to ensure alignment with improvement projects and key performance indicators, maintaining a consistent focus on progress and excellence.
  • Partnering with supply chain and quality to resolve supply, quality, cost and delivery issues. As needed participate in projects to improve supplier quality, cost and delivery.
  • Utilize value stream mapping to ensure the reduction of lead times from shipping through shipping.
  • Ensure that processes are stable, capable, safe and effective. Driving process improvements through continuous improvement and technology.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, and participating in professional societies and continuing education

Team Management

  • Developing a robust team capable of quickly resolving issues and proactively seeking out help.
  • A positive, performance-driven, client focused, collaborative and transparent working environment that is clear on expectations of high standards, continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Develop and communicate clear expectations, provide regular coaching and training to help employees improve and achieve goals and review team performance.
  • Create and maintain positive employee morale and healthy internal culture that retains key employees.
  • Fulfill staff requirements by facilitating and directing recruitment of new hires, onboarding, job training, performance coaching, staff retention and disciplinary actions.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelors degree (Masters degree preferred)or 10 or more years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, medical device or pharma preferred.
  • 5 or more years of management experience
  • In-depth knowledge of electronics assembly and test
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Travel Commitment:

  • Up to 10%, to include both domestic and international.
