In our continued mission to deliver the best value, experience and opportunity for our communities, stakeholders and partners using customer insights and experience, we are seeking a Senior Manager, Retail Design to provide architectural planning and design support for the overall Tanger portfolio. Responsibilities include conceptual design ideation and development, production of design deliverables for Real Estate, Leasing and Operations, and provide direction for portfolio enhancements to the company’s assets.

How you will contribute to what we do:

  • Under the supervision of VP, Design and Construction and SVP, Enterprise Operations, provide architectural vision and direction for capital improvements and developments. Research new concepts and trends applicable to retail development and discover opportunities that can be implemented within the company portfolio. Evaluate effectiveness of the current built environment and provide guidance on improvements.
  • Provide design direction and support for property renovations, mall activation areas and other company-wide initiatives. Collaborate with corporate and field team members on implementation of design concepts.
  • Partner with Real Estate, Leasing, Operations on construction projects, fulfilling department and company objectives. Foster collaboration among various internal and external team members. Participate in meetings with various department representatives to provide input pertaining to design-related matters.
  • Partner with Construction and Tenant Coordination departments on constructability, scheduling, budgeting, projected expenses and other project related tasks.
  • Provide input for other various architectural design-related projects as assigned.
  • Generate visual collateral such as sketches, 3D renderings and photo presentations to effectively communicate ideas and concepts. Utilize various software platforms to create drawings, renderings and vision boards. Partner with CAD and other inhouse resources to generate deliverables.
  • Select qualified architectural and design vendors through a competitive bidding process.
  • Provide direction and supervision for outside architects and design consultants. Maintain standards, policies and procedures on behalf of the company throughout the design process.
  • Review and approve drawings for all phases of architectural design including schematic, design development and construction drawings. Communicate vision and direction from various departments.
  • Ensure that construction is performed according to plans, specifications and other drawings.
  • Review and approve contracts, draw requests, invoices, change orders or negotiate changes with vendors as required.
  • Maintain consistent and thorough communication with the company to ensure all appropriate parties are properly informed of relevant scope of work and budgets, project status, and anticipated completion dates.

Hiring Range Disclaimer

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Tanger's total compensation package for employees.

Hiring Range: $95,400-$145,200 per year
