About The Position

This position is responsible for assisting the HR Director in performing and managing a wide and full range of complex Human Resources professional duties relating to human resource management.

Supervision Received

Receives direction from the Director of HR or a position of a higher grade.

Supervision Exercised

May supervise or oversee the work of other Human Resources staff.

Job Responsibilities

  • Recruitment: Assist the HR Director in managing the complete recruitment process cycle starting with job advertisement to extend job offers to candidates.
  • HR Administration: Manage the administration of HR processes. Prepare and process position classification additions and changes in CORE-CT system, prepare and process introductory period reviews to ensure assessments are completed, reviewed, and returned to Human Resources. Handle data changes such as salary, position, employment status and personal information in CORE-CT system. Under the guidance of HR Director, counsel and advise employees on matters related to employment, career development, transfer, separation, recruitment, and employee benefits and perform exit interviews. May be designated as CORE-CT Security Liaison.
  • Benefit Administration: In consultation with the HR Director, manage processes related to benefit administration. Implement all necessary benefit changes for employee additions, deletions and changes for life, AD&D, STD, LTD and retirement benefits. Administer, monitor, and process all life, STD, and LTD claim paperwork. Administer, monitor, and process all FMLA leave paperwork. Coordinate open enrollment fair, on-site employee visits with state sponsored benefit vendors and other various benefit open enrollment periods.
  • Work closely with HR Director on various HR functions such as employee training, performance management, preparation of staffing reports as requested, and review of HR policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications Required

BS/BA in business or related field preferred; requires a minimum of seven years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Relevant experience in lieu of education will be considered.

Knowledge And Skills

Considerable knowledge of human resource administration including recruitment, selection, classification, compensation, employee, relations, benefits, administration, knowledge of equal opportunity principles and requirements, considerable interpersonal skills, ability to analyze problems quickly and determine effective solutions. The position requires knowledge of relevant State and Federal laws, statutes, and regulations. The position requires knowledge of HRIS systems as well as knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Requires discretion in working with confidential information, and sensitivity in working with internal staff and external applicants/customers.

Salary: Min: $97,120 Mid-$121,398.34 High-$158,594
