Role Title: Senior Healthcare Business Data Analyst 

 

FLSA Category: Exempt 

 

Role Location: Remote 

 

Reporting Relationships: 

 

This position reports to SVP, Healthcare data and analytics.  

 

Role Summary and Responsibilities: 

 

The Senior Healthcare Business Data Analyst will execute a variety of complex analytical exercises to provide operations, quality, medical management, compliance, RCM, and finance with actionable, high quality quantitative information that drives effective business decision making, enables interpretation of current, past and future performance, and identifies opportunities to improve patient quality of care. The Senior Healthcare Business Data Analyst analyzes the root cause of any identified opportunities and presents the story to business decision makers to take appropriate actions using PPTs and dashboards. 

 

Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions 

 

  • Perform rigorous data mining and statistically sound analytical analyses to generate and communicate high-quality, actionable quantitative insights that drive integrated business decision-making and enable the interpretation of performance trends. 
  • Identify fresh opportunities to trim unnecessary medical and administrative costs. 
  • Devise dynamic and highly effective methods of data delivery, providing critical and insightful data. 
  • Collaborate with line and support functions to offer analytical support for critical operational effectiveness initiatives and identify avenues for improvement. 
  • Cultivate expertise and thought leadership in analytics, business intelligence, and reporting, proposing innovative approaches to business data analysis and interpretation. 
  • Develop and deliver presentations, reports, and dashboards for middle and senior management use, focusing on metrics like HEDIS, Cost, Risk, and Utilization. Continuously enhance the delivery of process performance information to all stakeholders. 
  • Utilize SQL and other relevant technologies to extract and process data for the business's analytical needs. 
  • Work alongside the Project Manager to establish and maintain a review and tracking process throughout the project lifecycle. 
  • Demonstrate strong communication and coordination skills to ensure timely project completion. 
  • Recommend opportunities for process improvement. 
  • Perform related duties as required. 
  • Admin/Owner of the Power BI team in managing access and permissions, ensuring data security and integrity. 
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of Power BI reports and dashboards, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and adherence to best practices. 
  • Provide guidance and training to team members on Power BI usage, access management, and report/dashboard development. 

 

Non-Essential Functions

Qualifications 

 

  • Tools: SQL, PowerBi, R, Python, Power Apps 
  • Business: Population Health Management, RCM, Quality, Risk Score, EMR and Claims data models 
  • BA/BS or equivalent 
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in healthcare data analytics 
  • Curious problem solver by nature; able to quickly make sense of complex business and data issues 
  • Driven, self-motivated, team player and adapt at working in environment with competing priorities 
  • Able to communicate and manage expectations 
  • Experience in Claims and EMRs data analytics is a plus 

 

Physical Requirements 

 

  • Mainly sedentary. 
  • Sitting at the desk most of the day. 
  • Standing or walking less than two hours per day. 
  • Lifting no more than ten pounds on rare occasions. 
  • Must be able to work at a computer and answer phone calls on a regular basis. 

 

Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role. 

 

Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
