POSITION SUMMARY AND PURPOSE

Reporting to the SVP of Accounting and Finance, the Senior Director, FP&A will provide leadership to the business reporting function inclusive of corporate financial planning and analysis, long-term strategic planning and play a key role in identifying and communicating actionable business insights of our brands.


The Senior Director, FP&A will bring a strong foundation in strategy, business analysis, and finance and will oversee Convive’s budgeting and forecasting process, as well as the operational financial reporting function to key internal and external stakeholders. This role requires a well-organized, detail-oriented strategic thinker who demonstrates initiative in decision-making, interpersonal, and communication skills. This fast-paced role will collaborate closely with the finance team and business partners throughout the organization.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Use critical thinking and analysis to develop actionable financial and operational insights to drive strategic business decisions.
  • Working closely with the Vice President, IT and Systems, to develop next generation BI reporting tools and data visualizations.
  • Produce and distribute weekly/monthly/quarterly/annually metrics reporting for review with operational and finance partners.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to lead the development of the annual budget, rolling monthly and quarterly forecasts, and the 5-year financial plan.
  • Identify key performance drivers and integrate these into business reporting to drive deeper understanding and accountability across the company. Continually develop new reporting formats and analytical tools. Extract insights from data and effectively use images, charts, and conceptual frameworks to synthesize that data.
  • Review and understand operating results: Actuals vs Budget and/or Forecast by identifying major drivers and timeline impacts. Create variance analysis reports and financial models.
  • Perform ad hoc financial modeling and analysis to support strategic decision making, workforce planning, product development and other ad hoc projects.
  • Create and deliver professional presentations to senior leadership.
  • Successfully manage, develop and direct at least one direct report.
  • Prepare competitor and market trend analyses that identify leaders, laggers and potential opportunities in which our Company may have a competitive advantage.


The ideal candidate possesses:

  • 8+ years of progressive work experience in highly operational financial analyst roles
  • Experience working in a multi-unit environment (Restaurants, Retail)
  • A deep curiosity, tenacity and talent for transforming raw data into actionable insights for the business.
  • A strong analytical mindset with technical ability and excellent interpersonal skills to manage direct reports, collaborate with colleagues and effectively communicate with senior leadership.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit balanced with an appreciation for corporate systems and willingness to “roll up your shirtsleeves”.
  • The ability to serve as a thought-partner to the CFO and a natural flexibility to new ideas, systems, processes, and tools.
  • An uncompromising commitment to excellence, who brings a hands-on, “all-in” work ethic with a high level of energy and passion for the hospitality industry.
  • A capacity to solve issues by identifying and addressing root cause problems that need to be structurally fixed.
  • A quick-learning self-starter who is able to adapt quickly to Convive’s rapid pace of growth and change.
  • A strong expertise in working with BI tools in addition to Excel and PowerPoint
  • Personal characteristics that include business maturity, integrity, self-confidence, resilience, collaborative influence style, superior communication, both verbally and written and strong interpersonal skills
  • A start-up mentality, tenacity, and rigor with the organizational prowess of those within a large organization
  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting is required
