Position Overview:


Our client are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Science Manager to lead our data science team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data science, machine learning, and leadership, with a proven track record of managing and developing high-performing teams. As a Senior Data Science Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving our data strategy, overseeing the development and implementation of advanced analytics solutions, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to drive business impact.


Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and mentor a team of data scientists, providing guidance, support, and coaching to foster their professional growth and development.
  2. Develop and execute the data science roadmap, aligning with the company's strategic objectives and priorities.
  3. Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to understand business requirements, identify opportunities for leveraging data science to drive value, and translate business problems into data-driven solutions.
  4. Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of data science projects, from ideation and prototyping to deployment and maintenance, ensuring high quality and timely delivery.
  5. Drive innovation in data science methodologies and techniques, staying abreast of the latest developments in the field and exploring new approaches to solving complex problems.
  6. Establish and maintain best practices for data science, including data governance, model development, and evaluation, to ensure accuracy, reliability, and scalability of solutions.
  7. Communicate findings and insights effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders, using data visualization and storytelling techniques to drive understanding and decision-making.
  8. Collaborate with other teams, including engineering, product management, and business operations, to integrate data science solutions into products and processes effectively.
  9. Monitor key performance metrics and KPIs to assess the impact of data science initiatives and drive continuous improvement.
  10. Serve as a thought leader and advocate for data-driven decision-making throughout the organization, promoting a culture of curiosity, experimentation, and learning.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field; advanced degree (e.g., Master's or Ph.D.) preferred.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in data science, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  3. Strong technical proficiency in data science tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL) and experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
  4. Demonstrated expertise in applying statistical and machine learning techniques to solve real-world problems, with a focus on predictive modeling, clustering, classification, and regression.
  5. Proven track record of leading and managing cross-functional teams, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  6. Experience working in agile development environments and familiarity with agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
  7. Solid understanding of data infrastructure and technologies, including data warehouses, data lakes, ETL processes, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  8. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and a passion for driving business impact through data-driven insights.
  10. Ability to adapt to change and navigate ambiguity, with a growth mindset and a willingness to continuously learn and evolve.
