Position Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Computational Scientist to join our innovative team at Flagship Labs 104 (FL104). In this pivotal role, you will have the opportunity to apply your expertise in computational biology to develop novel methodologies and algorithms, furthering our understanding of complex biological systems. As part of our mission-driven team, you'll contribute your quantitative and computational skills to revolutionize our approach towards drug discovery, leveraging cutting-edge advancements in AI and ML. This role offers the opportunity to significantly influence our scientific and technical trajectory, working in a dynamic, early-stage environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and validate preclinical PK/PD models, agent-based models, and ODEs or other similar statistical models to elucidate quantitative biological relationships.
  • Identify opportunities where model-informed drug development can advance the understanding of biology, pharmacological activity, and safety.
  • Contribute to a cooperative software development environment through Git usage, engagement in code reviews, and individual development of reliable code.
  • Containerize applications using Docker and manage CI/CD pipelines for streamlined development.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in computational biology, statistics, bioinformatics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience applying quantitative approaches to solve biological problems.
  • Proficiency in programming with Python and working with cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
  • Energetic self-starter with the ability to work effectively in a startup environment.
  • Exemplary analytical skills and ability to synthesize & communicate complex information rapidly and effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Solid experience with deep learning, particularly with LLMs.
  • Strong background in research methodologies related to systems biology, and PK/PD, agent-based models, or similar modeling approaches.
  • Experience working in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
  • Experience with workflow orchestration and containerization.
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines.
