Senior Business Intelligence (BI)/Data Analyst

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Boostlingo Senior Business Intelligence (BI)/Data Analyst will work closely as a critical member of a cross-functional Boostlingo leadership team. Reporting in the Finance and Accounting organization, this results-driven and detail-oriented Business Intelligence Analyst, who possesses strong technical skills in Tableau and SQL, will bring a proven track record of developing insightful dashboards and reports to support business operations and drive performance improvements across multiple areas of the business. As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs, extract, and analyze data, and develop interactive dashboards to empower decision-makers with timely and relevant insights. Diving deep into the development of data products (source of truth tables, reporting, visualizations, metrics) the ideal candidate lives for creating best-in-class work products for both internal stakeholder and customer consumption.

WHAT WILL BE EXPECTED OF THIS ROLE

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior BI/Data Analyst with expertise in Tableau and SQL to lead our data visualization and analytics efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, business intelligence, and dashboard development, with a proven track record of leveraging Tableau to deliver actionable insights to stakeholders. As a key member of our team, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design data visualizations, and drive the adoption of data-driven decision-making processes across the organization.

• Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements, translating them into technical specifications for dashboard development.
• Data Analysis: Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that drive business performance and inform strategic decision-making.
• Dashboard Development: Design, develop, and maintain interactive and visually appealing dashboards and reports using Tableau, ensuring accessibility and usability for stakeholders and creating visual pathways to key performance metrics and KPIs.
• Data Visualization: Translate business requirements into intuitive and informative data visualizations, leveraging best practices in data visualization design.
• Data Modeling: Develop and maintain data models and schemas to support reporting and analytics needs, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and integrity. Extract, clean, and transform data from various sources using SQL queries and ETL/ELT processes.
• Performance Optimization: Optimize dashboard performance and data refresh schedules to ensure timely and accurate reporting, performance, and usability for enhanced user experience, troubleshooting issues as needed.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough testing and validation of dashboards and reports to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and reliability.
• Training and Support: Provide training and support to end-users on Tableau usage, best practices, and self-service analytics capabilities
• Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in business intelligence and data visualization, recommending and implementing process improvements and tool enhancements.
• Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, presenting insights and recommendations clearly and compellingly.
  
  

WHAT MAKES YOU PERFECT FOR THE ROLE

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field.
• 5-8 years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or related roles.
• Proficiency in Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server, with hands-on experience developing complex dashboards and reports.
• Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze large and complex datasets.
• Solid understanding of data modeling concepts and techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster positive working relationships and effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality, accurate, and actionable insights.
• Tableau Desktop or Server certification or Tableau Prep experience is a plus.
• Experience with ETL or ELT processes including related tools is a plus.
