The individual has a solid understanding of Sonoco, policies and business practices necessary, or the person had extensive prior experience in a manufacturing company. The individual possesses the necessary skills, operational and business understanding to perform the job without supervision. The person should be able to assist in the training and development of staff members or be able to initiate and lead projects that add value to the business. Needs general guidance and boundary setting when completing non-routine tasks.


While reporting to the Associate Director, FP&A RPC NA, as the Senior Associate Manager, you will be a key member of the Business Unit Finance team and have primary responsibilities for performing all FP&A related activities budgeting, management / other reporting, variance analysis, strategic and long-range planning, predicting revenue / costs, forecasting, partnering with operations planning and other teams to define business targets.



What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Partner with business unit leaders and work proactively with management to develop FP&A solutions to ensure performance targets are met or exceeded within the Business Unit
  • Support the strategic business planning process, providing essential analysis on key KPIs & preparing & driving quarterly forecasting & annual budgeting reporting
  • Support processes to measure and report on performance relative to KPIs, including variance analysis
  • Validate key insights on management reports​
  • Oversee standard business performance reports with profitability, cost overrun, and productivity metrics​
  • Analyze the operational cashflow of the business through working capital review and variance to cash flow projections & review of capital projects.
  • Support the monthly forecast process and price/cost analysis. Monitoring the implementation of financial plans to support business growth, performing risk assessments, and making adjustment as needed. Provide monthly & quarterly commentary & information on the performance of the BU
  • Provide a key link between the Business unit finance team & region controllership Accounting team in assisting during the monthly closing cycle & supporting during both external & internal audit process
  • Ability to transform large data sets to provide actionable insights


Financial Analysis

  • Perform variance analysis and gather data to compare actual to budget and forecasts​
  • Identify variance concerns and help create appropriate actions ​
  • Support Capital Investment analysis, projecting returns to validate business cases


Pricing/ Commercial Analysis

  • Set up systems including modelling, customer pricing, review of customer profitability, contract review, and assist with sales negotiations​
  • Perform all processes related to the process chain​​


People Management

  • Oversee the BU FP&A Analyst's daily tasks and duties​
  • Identify and report any BU FP&A Analyst performance challenges


This is a 100% Remote position that will require being located and working in the Eastern Time Zone.


We would like to hear from you if:

  • Four Year Undergraduate Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business or equivalent demonstrated professional experience 8-10 years.
  • Preferred Certifications: CPA, CMA
  • Individual has strong knowledge of Sonoco's business and/or experience in other manufacturing settings
  • Experience with Oracle, Hyperion Planning, Onestream, and EFI Radius
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to grasp a general knowledge of multiple disciplines and technologies.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong knowledge of analysis and product costing.



Compensation:

The annual base salary range for this role is from $108,900 to $130,680, plus annual target bonus of 7.5% of base salary.

An annual bonus is awarded to eligible employees upon attaining various business and individual goals as defined by the Company and the department leader. This annual bonus is discretionary, and the Company has sole discretion to determine the amount of the award.


Senior - Highly motivated professional with deep expertise in Sonoco's business (or prior manufacturing experience). Works independently, tackling technical challenges without oversight. Thrives on taking initiative, leading value-adding projects, and spearheading complex cross-functional teams. Maintains regular communication with management, both written and verbal. ​
