Job Description—Senior Analytical Chemist (4644)
Basic Purpose
The Senior Chemist is a someone that has several years analyzing samples of raw materials, intermediates, and final products to ensure that the plant is producing products that meet our internal and external specifications. The Senior Chemist are responsible for assisting in the day-to-day activities of the analytical laboratory including independently developing and performing assays and analysis on raw materials, starting materials, chemicals and other products. They will assist the Section manager and guide the Chemistry team.

They will assist the Section manager and guide the Chemistry team.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Perform all tasks in accordance with OSHA regulations and company-specific health, safety, and environmental rules
- Evaluate customer request to determine the best method needed
- Apply technical skills to engineering methods of analysis for sample.
- Accurately enter data and file paperwork related to lab activities
- Review QC Reports
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments
- Method Validation
- Apply technical skills to engineer methods of analysis for unique sample types
- Provide insight into results and write reports explaining findings
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Act as a mentor to technicians and chemist
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- BS/MS degree in Chemistry preferred (other science degrees will be considered depending on experience); 5-7+ years relative experience with highly level experience with listed instrumentation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Basic Math skills
- Strong multi-tasking skills
- Team oriented
- GCMS, ICPMS, HR-ICPMS, FTIR, TXRF, IC, TOC
- Basic Computer skills using Microsoft Excel and Word
