Science Content Writer

Ourself is a health tracking app that integrates the specific healthcare needs of women. We recently soft-launched our mobile app and are ready to start driving more content to our users. We are seeking writers with science and health backgrounds to help us develop unique content for our learning center and website. We'll outline specific topics on women's health, research, hormones, and more to develop short and long-form content for the app and company blog. The goal is to write unique content and share knowledge from primary source respected medical journals in language that's easily accessible and engaging to the average health-tracking user. These articles will also be ghost written for medical professionals that will review and sponsor the content.

This is not an AI-assisted job, but one that requires:

1) a human understanding of primary source medical journals, and

2) the critical thinking and communication skills necessary to draw conclusions from multiple sources and distill those topics into articles that are relevant to our users.

This opportunity is open to both current students and professionals with 2+ years of writing experience preferably focused on health and/or science. Please include any relevant samples of your previous writing work.

This is an exciting project that is already making a real impact for women globally.

Compensation

Work is compensated on a per-article basis at $300 for each completed long-form article. 2 drafts of each article is required prior to final version. Finished articles must include at least 10 citations from respected medical journals in MLA format and incorporate the review and feedback from the medical professional sponsoring the content. Writer will also often be provided a general narrative outline to start with. Short-form content will be compensated at $200 article and will also require 2 drafts, 10 citations from respected medical journals in MLA content, and incorporate review and feedback from medical professional sponsoring the content.
