School Based Outpatient Therapist

Psychiatric Outpatient Services

Psychiatric Outpatient Services is a school based, trauma informed program, providing comprehensive outpatient treatment for children & adolescents (ages 3-18).

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for providing clinical care in the school setting. They will utilize assessment tools to identify areas for interventions and partner with district staff to support the student in a manner that is conducive to all aspects of wellness. While working as part of a team, this position requires a significant amount of autonomy and ideal candidates will possess the ability to maintain a large caseload with access to weekly supervision. This position may be required to provide services in the clinic depending on school schedule and closures. This position is a 10-month full time position.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Human Service or related field including psychology, counseling, or social work
  • One or more years of experience working in an office setting
  • 2 or more years of providing therapy to children & adolescents

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct services to individuals, families, and groups through a wide variety of treatment modalities including but not limited to individual, group, and families’ therapies in multiple school settings
  • Coordinate total care given by collaborating with multidisciplinary professionals to provide and facilitate care in accordance with policies and procedures, philosophy and objectives of Child and Family Focus
  • Coordinate and triage all referrals while ensuring care is provided in a timely manner
  • Serve as a liaison between Child and Family Focus and local School Districts focusing on customer services, community partnerships, and advocacy for students in need
  • Demonstrate ongoing availability/reliability during the school year
  • Create, maintain, and update treatment plans accordingly to address client specific needs
  • Maintain caseload of minimally 30-34 clients scheduled each week
  • Expected to schedule and see all clients every week and maintain a minimum of 22.5 billable hours per week
  • Responsible for completion of intake and clinical assessments for all participants on the caseload
  • Responsible for documentation of sessions and obtaining signed encounter forms at each session
  • Responsible for timely completion of all required documentation in client’s chart, including, but not limited to intake biopsychosocial, various assessments, treatment plans, notes within 48 hours, memos to chart, referrals to other levels of care, discharge paperwork, Childline and incident report documentation, and chart audits
  • Maintain an up to date schedule in EHR allowing others on treatment team to be easily aware of cancellations or openings in schedule
  • Utilize multiple electronic health records, when needed.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to best practice standards and OMSHAS regulations
  • Maintain electronic health record within compliance standards
  • Ability to maintain documentation of clinical chart
  • Maintain availability to accommodate evening or weekend hours if necessary due to school closures or parent availability
  • Ability to support families in a strengths based manner and maintain weekly communication

  • Additional duties as assigned

Work Environment:

  • Work in standard office environment as well as school-based settings

Compensation and Benefits:

  • $16 per hour administrative rate/ $35 per hour clinical rate (paid as an additional $19 per hour bonus on top of the administrative rate for total clinical hours billed)
