Job Purpose
Under supervision of the Principal Research Scientist, the Research Associate is responsible for carrying out research activities on banked human tissues and cell culture in support of research and product development.

Physical Requirements
Job is one where the incumbent is required to stand for extended periods of time, lift heavy objects, and do repetitive tasks with few breaks while executing research plans.

Job Purpose
Under supervision of the Principal Research Scientist, the Research Associate is responsible for carrying out research activities on banked human tissues and cell culture in support of research and product development.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Implement complex experiments and maintain detailed records of experiments and outcomes, analyze and interpret research data.
- Perform ongoing research and testing of developed products using biochemistry assays.
- Participate in the development of quality control testing measures for developed products.
- Participate in the maintenance of all lab equipment and supplies, including development of protocols ensuring the proper use of lab equipment, ordering of needed lab supplies, and maintenance of viable cells.
Qualifications
- BA/BS, Advanced degree (Master) preferred, in biology, biochemistry or life sciences/health related field.
- Two or more years of experience in a laboratory setting as Science Technician (Industry or University)
- MUST have experience with tissue and cell culture, biochemistry assays (ELISA, Flow cytometry, cytotoxicity assays, etc…) and microbiology analytics.
- Demonstrate excellent communication (both oral and written) skills.
- Able to execute experiments under guidance of scientists.
- Must be able to organize and manage a diverse range of assignments and projects under pressure with high efficiency.
- Work cooperatively in a laboratory setting and be willing to work occasional flexible hours as needed.
- CTBS certified (or certified within two years of employment).
