Chartwell, Inc., an Atlanta-based research and information firm serving the utility industry, seeks a Research Analyst who will research and analyze customer-facing topics, especially the role of utilities in the growing electric vehicle market as well as how utilities can better serve business customers, both large and small. The ideal candidate is an excellent researcher, exhibits good communication skills, is able to manage multiple tasks and learn quickly, deliver presentations, travel occasionally, and spot utility/energy industry trends.

The candidate will need to comfortably and confidently engage clients, partners and others within the industry. The candidate will also need to work closely with other analysts and product managers to generate research and analysis and event content. Knowledge of the energy or utility industry is a plus.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze data and information on utility programs. Track and forecast industry trends. Identify and monitor best practices. Communicate findings through written reports, presentations, blogs, etc.
  • Take the lead on outreach to clients to complete surveys and participate in council meetings.
  • Prepare responses to client questions and requests by leveraging primary research.
  • Keep Chartwell’s member portal updated with information and resources for members.
  • Develop and maintain contacts across the industry.
  • Assist in the design and administration of surveys.
  • Assist in developing content for Chartwell events including meetings, webinars and conferences.
  • Contribute new ideas to improve existing products and services and develop new ones.
  • Travel to Chartwell and industry events as needed.
  • Reporting to Manager of Research

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, communications, or research strongly preferred.
  • 2+ years’ experience in research and analysis and/or business reporting.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills required.
  • Experience using survey software, Excel Data Analysis tools, and PowerBI preferred.
