Job Title: Quality Engineer

Job Function: Manufacturing Quality

Job Overview:

The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that products meet or exceed customer expectations for quality and reliability. Quality Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement quality control processes, from material quality, process quality, product quality, customer quality-related support, and drive for continuous improvement. Reports to Executive Vice President. Located in Newark, CA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement quality control processes to ensure customer satisfaction:
  • Study and understand the customer requirements on material quality, process quality, and product quality.
  • Develop and implement internal quality control/ quality assurance processes to meet customer requirements.
  • Communicate with the customer on quality issues, quality requests, and quality support.
  • Support customer audit activities.
  • Develop and implement quality control processes to ensure material quality:
  • Develop and implement incoming quality inspection methods and sampling plans according to the customer requirements, and quality history of the materials.
  • Training for Incoming quality personnel for the incoming inspection procedures and criteria.
  • Monitor and support receiving, and incoming quality inspection processes to solve material quality issues.

3.Develop and implement quality control processes to ensure product quality in the process:

  • Develop and implement quality control in the process to ensure compliance of product quality to the Customer requirements.
  • Review and drive improvement for quality issues throughout the processes
  • Conduct process/product quality audits and drive corrective actions.
  • Training for process personnel for the customer quality requirements and quality control plan.
  • Review, and analyze the process quality data and drive for continuous improvement.
  • Quality Data Analysis, Statistical Analysis, and maintain effectiveness of Management Systems:
  • Conduct quality data analysis, and monitor quality trends from the material quality and supplier quality performance.
  • Conduct quality data analysis, and monitor quality trends from the process, product, and Customer satisfaction on quality.
  • Develop Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (P-FMEA) to identify the potential risks for the manufacturing process and products.
  • Develop Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (D-FMEA) to identify the potential risks to the product and the users, when required.
  • Develop Quality Control Plan and implement Quality Control activities to ensure product quality.
  • Develop and implement the Statistical Process Control (SPC), Statistical Quality Control (SQC), and Measurement System Statistical Analysis (MSA) methodologies to monitor, improve and sustain the quality.
  • When needed, develop and update the quality documents according to requirements for improvement, customer, or applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Support to maintain compliance and effectiveness of applicable Quality Management Systems (QMS, such as ISO9001, IATF16949, ISO13485, etc) and Environmental Management System (EMS, such as ISO14001) of the company.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in quality engineering, quality control, manufacturing or process engineer.
  • Strong understanding of material quality, quality management systems, statistical process control, problem-solving, and root cause analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Experience in the PCBA or SMT manufacturing industry is preferred.
  • Experience with electronic or semiconductor components is preferred.
  • Certified IPC610 certification is strongly preferred.
  • Certify or experience in any of IATF, Automotive 5 Core-tools, ISO13485, FDA, ISO14001, ISO9001, or Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification is strongly preferred.

Salary Range: $80K- $130K/ year
