Quality Engineer

Job Summary

• Looking to hire a Quality Engineer to join our Ejection Seating team in beautiful Miami Florida.
• This position will be the primary interface between Collins Aerospace and the customer with the focus on fostering a relationship, ensuring and improving quality performance, and supporting the Collins Aerospace operational goals including the manufacturing, inspection, and shipment of aviation products.
• The Quality Engineer will lead teams to investigate the root cause of customer escapes and non-conformances and determine appropriate corrective/preventive actions.
  
  

Key Responsibilities

• Lead teams to investigate the root cause of customer escapes and non-conformances and determine appropriate corrective/preventive actions.
• Assess and disposition customer non-conformances.
• Review and approve First Article inspections.
• Perform product, process, and work instruction audits.
• Interface with various Engineering groups and Customer Support to resolve technical/quality issues related to engine manual repairs and other approved technical data.
• Assist with Escape investigations within Business Units.
• Actively participate on plant wide team.
• Overtime: Dependent on business needs and manager prior approval.
  
  

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 2 or more years' experience in an engineering, manufacturing, operations management, program/project management, quality or closely related industrial environment, or an Associate's degree and 4 or more years' experience in an engineering, manufacturing, operations management, program/project management, quality or closely related industrial environment.
• In lieu of a degree, 4 or more years' experience in an engineering, manufacturing, operations management, program/project management, quality or closely related industrial environment.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated effective root cause determination skills (8D, Fault Tree, etc.)
• Ability to obtain, organize and analyze quality data.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.
