Maesa is currently seeking an individual to join our Purchasing & Project Management team. This person will be responsible for the management of various projects related to launch planning and procurement for several exciting brands in our portfolio. Focus will be to ensure on time, in budget and quality execution.

Pay Range: $90,000/yr - $110,000/yr. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Management

  • Create project timelines and oversee timely execution of new product launches, in-store merchandising, displays, sampling programs, and on-going improvements to existing items.
  • Actively work in partnership with cross-functional team members and external stakeholders to validate timelines and find solutions to any obstacles to project completion.
  • Clearly communicate and track each project timeline. Any risks should be visible and communicated.
  • Own the critical flow of communication between cross-functional team members on each project, including but not limited to leading weekly project status meetings with cross-functional teams to track progress, creating agendas and recaps for those meetings, maintaining awareness of upcoming deadlines, sharing updates in project scope, and ensuring a smooth workflow on tight timelines.
  • Hold internal teams accountable for meeting project milestones.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.


Procurement

  • Own budget for each project and hold team accountable for meeting margin goals.
  • Create accurate budgets for each project clearly showing the associated costs and margins. Update and monitor those budgets during the development and production process to ensure profit margins are maintained or improved.
  • Obtain quotes directly from suppliers or through cross-functional teams (Packaging, Testing, Logistics) for cost analyses.
  • Manage sourcing for all formulas, fill & assembly. Find and evaluate potential suppliers based on core competencies, production capacity, lead times, cost, quality, and overall capabilities.
  • Tender RFQs to multiple suppliers for each new item and negotiate prices to meet margin goals.
  • Work in collaboration with fillers and internal R&D partners on formula development within budget allocated.
  • Keep open and consistent communication with fillers in early stages of new projects to ensure awareness of timelines, packaging, quality expectations, BOMs and fill & assembly instructions.


Qualifications And Requirements

  • Experience in the haircare and/or cosmetics is preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, or equivalent.
  • 4-5 years of experience in project management and/or procurement, preferably in the beauty industry.
  • Experience in one or more of the following categories is required: hair care, skin care, color cosmetics, fragrance, and home care.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to be clear and concise.
  • Solutions-oriented and results-driven.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Flexibility and willingness to take on additional responsibilities when needed.
