General Summary

The individual will be responsible for: Working with senior team members and agency resources on the execution of communications plans supporting product launches, events, and always-on media/analyst/influencer relations programs. Develop and coordinate approvals of communications assets such as press releases, press notes, FAQs, pitches and reactive statements. Work with team to conduct media outreach around product announcements, during events/tradeshows, press conferences, media tours, etc. (crafting pitch, scheduling, staffing, coverage reporting, etc.). Manage incoming media inquiries, recommend responses) and content (e.g. suggested answers). Staff media and analyst engagements. Help manage agency resource in support of communications initiatives including media relations, analyst relations, influencer relations, and speakerships. Collaborate with other PR, marketing, digital and product management functions to help create internal alignment across marketing activities and planning. Manage business unit reporting process – quarterly and annual. Ongoing budget and logistics support.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.


OR

Associate's degree and 2+ years of Public Relations or related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, or related field.
  • 2+ years of Public Relations or related work experience in a high-tech product company.
  • Experience with direct press/media relations
  • Experience required in coordinating media events and media tours
  • Strong writing skillset familiar with the storytelling format
  • Able to plan effectively with attention to detail
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work well with others cross functionally
  • Ability to prioritize and effectively across simultaneous projects

  • Works under supervision.
  • Decision-making affects direct area of work and/or work group.
  • Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey information. May require basic negotiation, influence, tact, etc.
  • Works within the prescribed budgetary objectives of the department.
  • Has a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions (e.g., is consulted by senior leadership to make key decisions).
  • Tasks consist of a limited number of steps and can be referenced using directions or manuals.

Pay Range

$34.67 - $52.01

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
