The ideal Program Manager – CA Market will be able to see the big picture while getting into the details and consistently following through. This role is critical to creating visibility around product development processes and managing cross-functional, multi-channel projects from concept through launch. This role will be a critical partner across our internal teams and stakeholders as we innovate and expand our product portfolio. To succeed, a flexible skillset and mindset are necessary, as well as the ability to think strategically, execute tactically, and collaborate across many teams, levels, and rigorous timelines.


Covering for maternity leave, this contract Program Manager opportunity reports to the Director of Project Management for approximately six months, ideally from the beginning of June through the end of 2024. This position is integral to the expansion of the Cookies Product Portfolio - as it is the sole manager of cannabis products coming to market in California. In short, this position manages the product creation process from cultivation through distribution to retail stores.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Organizing activities based on the goals of the organization, specifically through facilitating and tracking status via:
  • Weekly Co-MFG meeting with distribution partners
  • Weekly California Product Timeline Review Meeting
  • Weekly Product Drop Confirmation Meeting
  • Monthly California + Out-of-State Marketing Review
  • Organizing collaboration efforts for specific product launches to support the organization’s strategic objectives and new store openings
  • Working with Category Managers, Product Development, and external teams to develop product capabilities and plans for the products/programs. Specifically, timeline management of those manufacturing capabilities to accommodate for: Raw Materials, Packaging handoff & Receival, Finished products, Pick up & Distribution.
  • Monitoring internal projects and overseeing those project managers to ensure departmental goals are met, contributing to more extensive program efforts: Creative, Marketing, Retail, Operations, Tech, and Account Management.
  • Working with the marketing team to improve GTM strategies and communications
  • Continue identifying and implementing effective processes, constantly looking for opportunities to improve workflows and the overall PM system.


You have:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification is strongly preferred.
  • PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)® or Professional Scrum MasterTM (PSM) is strongly preferred.
  • A passion for the cannabis industry and familiarity with the Cookies brand.
  • 3+ years of project management is required.
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience is required.
  • Excellent marketing skills and communication skills - verbal and written.
  • Demonstrate the ability to be proactive and resourceful, effectively problem solving using resources available.
  • A track record that demonstrates a drive for results.
  • Ability to positively influence and communicate professionally with cross-functional partners.
  • Proficiency with Smartsheets, Google Suite, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • The ability to execute and get the job done in an ever-changing, dynamic, and fast-paced environment.
  • A love of great project management and strong critical thinking skills at the functional and business level.
  • Must be able to reason through complex business issues which have significant and material impact to the business.
  • Extraordinary attention to detail while working to tight deadlines.
  • Comfortable with the ambiguity and fast pace that accompanies new innovation.
  • A highly collaborative, growth mindset and are the ultimate team player who gets SH*T done.

This is a full-time, contract (~6 months or longer) position with the ability to work remotely. Our team and company-operated retail locations are primarily located in California; we are open to applicants willing to work West Coast business hours.
