JOB SUMMARY:

The Procurement Specialist manages all the Indirect Purchases related to L’Occitane North America business, as well as looks for synergies amongst the other group’s 5 brands that are based in the US. With a spend of over USD 35M and around 1,000 suppliers, this position has a big opportunity not only on negotiation but also on processes and tools implementation and review for Marketing, Merchandising, Supply Chain, and other Business Services categories. This role also involves supplier management, with a big focus on Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability, aligned with L’Occitane Group’s values and commitments.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead RFI, RFP and RFQ processes according to business needs, partnering with the different areas within the company – Marketing, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Finance, HR, Digital, Sales and Sustainability Teams.
  • Run strategic sourcing projects when appropriate.
  • Run financial analysis, partnering with Finance to ensure the results of negotiations are according to business’ expectations.
  • Discuss and review contracts with suppliers and internal stakeholders, as well as manage contracts during their lifecycles.
  • Propose new processes or processes improvement, according to day-to-day activities.
  • Partner with suppliers to close win-win deals and strength relationships.
  • Be part of a global Procurement community, exchanging information and doing benchmarks with the different regions and brands of the group, leveraging the results for the business.
  • Propose new options of suppliers, services, and materials from the market, to enable innovation.
  • Engage and manage suppliers on our programs of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability, taking these criteria in consideration on all the decisions made within Procurement.
  • Report monthly and quarterly results and KPI’s for Leadership and Finance teams.
  • All other duties or projects as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:

  • BA in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, Engineering, Economics, or other relevant area.

EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • 3-5 years on Procurement, with progressively increasing responsibilities within consumer goods and/or retail industries.
  • Experience on Indirect Procurement, preferably on Marketing and Merchandising categories in the USA market.
  • Experience on negotiation, strategic sourcing, and RFx processes.
  • Experience on contract and supplier management.

Preferred:

  • Supplier management experience with focus on Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability.
  • Project management and processes review/creation experience.
  • Background on multi-country and/or multi-brand organization.



SKILLS:

  • Ability to partner with and influence others without direct authority.
  • Build consensus and collaborate with people from different functions, proposing solutions and options from the suppliers’ market.
  • Hands-on mentality, demonstrating autonomy and showing the ability to manage expectations and requirements of different stakeholders.
  • Strong prioritization skills in order to meet deadlines.
  • Organization skills to be able to control KPI’s, contracts and a variety of different projects and different categories at the same time.
  • Customer centric behavior with pro-active attitude.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to respond to changes in the external and internal environments.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to identify and manage risks.



PHYSICAL & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3 times/week at NYC office
  • Visits to national suppliers as needed - around 10% of the time ​​​


The compensation for this role ranges from $70,000 - $80,000 for the NYC region. Exact compensation will vary based on factors including but not limited to, experience, skills, and geographic location. In addition to annual salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program.
