Private Equity and Executive Compensation Analyst

William H. Gates, III dba Cascade Asset Management Company seeks a Private Equity and Executive Compensation Analyst for its Kirkland, WA office. (Telecommuting permitted from within commuting distance of Kirkland, WA up to 40%)

Job Duties

  • Review initial investments and perform financial analysis/valuation, due diligence, and execution of new investments, as well as ongoing portfolio support
  • Research current or potential investments, industries, and business models, including across asset classes
  • Participate in legal documentation and negotiations for new investments and financing arrangements
  • Monitor and report to the broader team on our current investments, including review of monthly operating results and project performance
  • Engage with executive teams and Boards of public and private company holdings to discuss improvements to the compensation plan design
  • Evaluate executive compensation plans of public companies related to annual ‘Say on Pay’ proxy voting
  • Analyze Change in Control programs as part of mergers or acquisitions
  • Telecommuting permitted from within commuting distance of Kirkland, WA up to 40%



Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related field. CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) Level I designation required. Eight (8) years of experience as an Analyst, Compensation Analyst, Investment Fund Manager, or closely related occupation, including:
  • Seven (7) years of experience utilizing compensation databases to analyze executive compensation packages, including conducting comparative analysis, evaluating pay competitiveness, assessing the effectiveness of executive compensation programs, and communicating findings and recommendations to key decision makers for proposed compensation strategies
  • Seven (7) years of experience performing financial analysis and financial modeling using Bloomberg, Cap IQ and Blackrock Aladdin within investment banking, private equity, or executive compensation fields
  • Four (4) years of experience participating in legal documentation and negotiations for new investments and financing arrangements
  • Two (2) years of experience utilizing the McLagan Compensation Database tool to review and synthesize economic, industry, and company specific data, including researching and creating industry specific executive compensation strategies and proposals
  • Two (2) years of experience researching and designing executive compensation plans
  • One (1) year of experience performing total compensation package analysis including reviewing every component inclusive of base salary, short term incentives, long term incentives, and stock options
  • Experience may be gained concurrently. Foreign equivalent degrees are acceptable
