Opportunity

PCCF is currently seeking an executive to lead the strategic and operational initiatives in support of the Foundation’s mission. This is a unique and special opportunity lead one of the most respected community organizations in our region. With a deeply trusted brand name and devoted Board of talented and well-respected community leaders, the next president & CEO will be positioned to bring the Foundation to the next level with tremendous opportunity for growth, expansion—and, most importantly, patient impact.

Pluta Cancer Center was established at Genesee Hospital in Rochester, NY, in 1975 by a grant from the Pluta family. The hospital’s very first cancer treatment facility, Pluta Cancer Center, became a valuable resource for comprehensive, multidisciplinary cancer care in the Rochester community. When Genesee Hospital closed in 2001, the Pluta family—under the leadership, determination and heart-felt persistence of Andrew Pluta—worked to keep Pluta Cancer Center open.

In March 2003, Pluta Cancer Center moved into its current location at 125 Red Creek Drive in Henrietta, NY. Pluta became New York’s first independent not-for-profit cancer center, offering the latest in radiation therapy technology, chemotherapy treatment and integrative oncology care.

Pluta merged with Strong Memorial Hospital and the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) in 2012. Since the partnership, patients have been receiving the same compassionate, patient-centered care that Pluta is known for while gaining access to the University’s state-of-the-art research, new technology and clinical research.

Pluta Cancer Center Foundation (PCCF), established in 2012, continues to support the patients of Pluta Cancer Center. Specifically, the Foundation raises funds to:

· Support individual patients facing financial hardship because of their diagnosis.

· Operate the Pluta Integrative Oncology and Wellness Center as well as other supportive programs across the Wilmot Cancer Institute.

· Support front-line caregivers with professional development and employee engagement opportunities.

Reporting to the Board President and accountable to the Board of Directors, the President & CEO will have responsibility for organizational leadership including staff management, financial oversight, community relations, board relations, fundraising, liaison with URMC / WCI, and execution of the strategic plan as directed by the Board. The Foundation has $10M in assets and raises $1.5M annually—with a team of four. In addition to fundraising, the Foundation operates several patient-facing programs and provides operational management support to the Pluta Integrative Oncology & Wellness Center (PIOWC).

The CEO should have experience in nonprofit management, preferably in a healthcare. They must be committed to the mission of PCCF. The ideal candidate will have experience managing a 501c organization—including fiscal oversight and board governance.
