Plant Manager

Russell Tobin has partnered with a leading materials & mining organization on a confidential search for a Plant Manager to lead one of their facilities located in the eastern half of the US. This role will be on-site once established and the company will provide relocation if necessary.

This role requires a blend of hands-on involvement in the plant and office environment, occasional travel to other plants, and interaction with stakeholders such as customers, suppliers, public officials, and community groups. The Plant Manager will need to be available for on-call duty to address any arising issues, demonstrating a sense of urgency and responsiveness.

Salary range is targeted at $130k-$150k/year + bonus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct supervision of department managers to ensure smooth operation.
• Meet production, product quality, and operating requirements in line with company policies and sustainable practices.
• Develop and oversee annual plant operating and capital expenditure budgets.
• Lead the completion of capital improvement projects.
• Assist in setting short- and long-term goals for the operation.
• Drive implementation of operational excellence initiatives for optimal results.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Minimum 5 years of management experience.
• Knowledge of industrial management, mining, or processing methods.
• Proficiency in addressing personnel issues and optimizing human resources.
• Ability to foster cooperation among employees, customers, and community leaders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to implement effective solutions.
• Creative problem-solving abilities for complex operational challenges.
• Extensive knowledge of mining and mineral processing, including grinding and packaging.
• Experience with Lean manufacturing techniques.
• Knowledge of accounting systems and financial management.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Business Administration or related field.
• Experience with Lean and Maintenance Excellence practices.
