Outside Sales Representative (Southern California)

Rugby Architectural Building Products is a wholesale distributor of specialty building products, operating out of 29 branches throughout the United States. We primarily sell lumber products for our customers to make beautiful things and build happiness.

Position: We are growing! We are looking for an Outside Sales Representative, responsible for growing business and selling our product line in the Southern California territory.

Your Day-to-Day: to excel in this role, you will need to...

  • Sell our products to current customers in the region through a focus on customer service.
  • Grow sales by increasing our customer base to new customers.
  • Communicate needs of the customer with the branch to better ensure optimized product mix.
  • Communicate with inside sales staff to ensure a coordinated and synchronized sales effort.
  • Accompany vendors’ sales representatives as needed, calling on appropriate customer accounts to satisfy vendor concerns.

  • You like to lead the conversation, explore new frontiers, and take initative.
  • You are competitive with a drive to win!
  • You have a minimum of 2-4 years sales experience, ideally in an outside sales or territory sales role, and ideally in the construction sales industry.
  • You have knowledge of millwork, and understand 2-step distribution.
  • You can travel as needed throughout the territory.
  • You have excellent customer service skills, with knowledge of Agility software a plus.
  • As you will be driving a company vehicle, we consider this a Safety Sensitive position, subject to routine drug screening.
