NPF Internship Opportunity
Role Overview
The National Park Foundation is excited to announce our 2024 Internship Program! To promote the mission and goals of the National Park Foundation, we are seeking ambitious, proactive, and passionate college sophomores and juniors in the DMV area to learn more about our organization and assist our departments with all the exciting new developments within the Foundation. We are seeking five interns with unique interests and skills to aid the different departments with their specific needs – but most importantly, we are seeking individuals who are invested in the future and wellbeing of our National Parks and the processes that are necessary to ensure our parks have the funding needed to continue to thrive.
Who We Are
Founded in 1967, The National Park Foundation has helped protect and preserve some of America’s most treasured places for over 50+ years. Across the country, there are over 400 National Parks Sites, including well-known, scenic parks such as Yosemite National Park and the Grand Canyon National Park, as well as historically and culturally significant monuments like the Harriet Tubman National Park and Martin Luther King, JR. National Park. In our partnership with the National Parks Service, we work tirelessly to create and maintain partnerships with our donors, partners, and Friends of the Park to continue raising funding. From raising funds for the communities and workforce of the park, to the conservation of landscapes and wildlife and beyond, the National Park Foundation plays an integral role in ensuring National Parks are safe, usable, and accessible across the United States. Each department at the National Park Foundation plays a vital part in ensuring the success of the National Parks – and we would love for you to be a part of it!
Structure Of The Internship
Our Internship Program is seeking five college students in the DMV area to learn more about our organizational mission, v alues , and strategies throughout the Summer of 2024. We are seeking students pursuing degrees in the following areas to apply: Government Relations/Political Science, Information Technology, Marketing, History & Culture, and Environmental Sustainability . The program will run from June 1 7th to August 23 rd . All candidates must be local or willing to relocate to the Washington, D.C. area, as this position is hybrid. We expect interns to work in the Washington, D.C headquarters Monday-Thursday, 9:00a.m.-5:00p.m. Interns will be compensated at $20 per hour plus a Metro Card stipend or daily parking reimbursement.

Qualifications
- Must be studying Government Relations/Political Science, Information Technology, Marketing, History & Culture, and Environmental Sustainability. as a college sophomore or junior .
- Must be local or willing to relocate in the DMV area for the entire internship program.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Experience with Outlook, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint.
- Highly organized with great attention to detail, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and time management skills.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
- Must be authorized to work in the United States throughout the entire duration of the internship. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
