Job Purpose
Canoo is seeking a driven and innovative new graduate to join our team as a Manufacturing Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving the manufacturing processes that enable the production of our industry-leading electric vehicles. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process optimization, implement lean manufacturing principles, and drive the advancement of our production systems.
Responsibilities (80s Of The Position)
Develop and refine manufacturing processes, procedures, and workflows to support the efficient production of Canoo's electric vehicles.
Utilize advanced computer-aided engineering (CAE) tools, such as simulation software, to design, model, and validate new manufacturing approaches.
Develop applications in Unity to integrate into the hololens
Build applications to detect objects, tracking utilizing AI tools.
Analyze manufacturing data, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to enhance productivity and quality.
Work closely with production, quality, and equipment engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of manufacturing processes.
Create and maintain detailed process documentation, work instructions, and training materials.
Monitor and optimize manufacturing key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement.
Provide technical support and guidance to production staff to ensure successful implementation of new processes.
Required Experience
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field
0-2 years of experience in a manufacturing or process engineering role (internships and co-ops are applicable)
Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills
Proficiency in using CAE software (e.g., CATIA, Siemens NX, ANSYS) for process design and simulation.
Familiarity with Unity Programming and C#
Knowledge of Augmented Reality (AR)
Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Mixed Reality ToolKit or AR foundations Took Kit a plus.
Travel Requirements
Potential of 0 to 20% travel as necessary.
