Job Purpose

Canoo is seeking a driven and innovative new graduate to join our team as a Manufacturing Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving the manufacturing processes that enable the production of our industry-leading electric vehicles. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process optimization, implement lean manufacturing principles, and drive the advancement of our production systems.

Responsibilities (80s Of The Position)

  • Develop and refine manufacturing processes, procedures, and workflows to support the efficient production of Canoo's electric vehicles.
  • Utilize advanced computer-aided engineering (CAE) tools, such as simulation software, to design, model, and validate new manufacturing approaches.
  • Develop applications in Unity to integrate into the hololens
  • Build applications to detect objects, tracking utilizing AI tools.
  • Analyze manufacturing data, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Work closely with production, quality, and equipment engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of manufacturing processes.
  • Create and maintain detailed process documentation, work instructions, and training materials.
  • Monitor and optimize manufacturing key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to production staff to ensure successful implementation of new processes.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 0-2 years of experience in a manufacturing or process engineering role (internships and co-ops are applicable)
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in using CAE software (e.g., CATIA, Siemens NX, ANSYS) for process design and simulation.
  • Familiarity with Unity Programming and C#
  • Knowledge of Augmented Reality (AR)
  • Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
  • Mixed Reality ToolKit or AR foundations Took Kit a plus.

Travel Requirements

  • Potential of 0 to 20% travel as necessary.
