Position: Medicaid Proposal Director/Lead Director Project Program Manager

Duration: 9+ months with possibility of extension

This role will create and implement a proposal-wide strategy and partner with leaders to achieve industry-leading onboarding and training that improves retention. This individual will lead a team responsible for training production team members focusing on continuous development..

Position Summary

You'll be able to work remotely from anywhere in the continental United States* in this role.

Aetna's Medicaid Proposal Director/Lead Director Project Program Manager leads end-to-end proposal activities for large, complex Medicaid proposals.

The Proposal Director ensures high engagement and collaboration across the enterprise and among internal and external teams, ensuring a fully compliant and responsive submission. They work with senior leaders and key contributors to establish and fully understand the vision for the proposal and coordinate among team members to ensure highly effective execution that leads to winning bids for new and existing markets. The Proposal Director is responsible for adhering to and promoting the established processes, using our tools, influencing the proposal-specific strategy and ensuring a high-quality product. They thoroughly review, assess and action as appropriate all proposal material.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience with Medicaid managed care proposals.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently to produce high quality results that meet needs of internal and external customer expectations under tight timeframes
• Strong team collaboration skills
• Ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities through the identification and execution on creative solutions
• Able to work evenings and weekends as proposal schedule requires
• Ability to travel 25%
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

7-10 years' experience in government (state-level) proposals strongly preferred

Medicaid And/or Healthcare Experience Strongly Preferred

Eastern or Central Time Zone preferred, but not required

Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) certification(s)

Experience developing competitive analyses and analyzing/applying findings

Experience creating executive presentations

Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

What does the interview process look like? One. Interview will be with me and another colleague.

What is the typical shift hours candidate will work each day? Preference is to work general business hours in ET or CT zones.

Will candidate work onsite or work from home? WFH however, with assigned projects there is some travel related, which equates to about 15%. Travel is discussed in advance.
