Position Overview:
The Next Solutions Group is growing and looking to hire a Media Relations Specialist (AE level) with experience in Communications and Earned Media to advance our goals in the areas of media engagement and client service. The ideal candidate has strong communications experience, preferably through work within an agency, as well as media relations experience and experience pitching media across various tiers (top-tier national, regional, local, trade/industry, etc.) and industries.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Collaborate with the NSG media engagement team to develop media relations strategies, goals, media targets, angles and pitches.
Conduct media outlet/journalist research and quickly develop media lists that are focused and relevant to newsworthy angles.
Pitch the media.
Build productive and ongoing “pick-up-the-phone” relationships with journalists.
Develop media relations strategies, goals, media targets, pitch angles.
Support client teams in monitoring news coverage that involves or would be of interest to specific clients and their respective industries.
Monitoring for opportunities for clients to participate in current news conversations and show up in news coverage in a positive way that build reputation.
Exemplary client service that addresses short-term needs immediately and builds long-term trust.
Qualifications:
1-2+ years of relevant communications and media relations experience; agency experience a plus
Strong media relations skills/experience and established relationships; past experience in journalism a plus
Exceptional communication skills
Proven track record of strong client service and developing strong client relationships
Flexible approach; able to change priorities against changing client and team needs
Thrives in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, and client-service driven environment
Works effectively within a team, demonstrating coordination, collaboration, communication and problem-solving skills
Possesses intellectual curiosity, a passion for learning
Salary range – 64K-74K
Base pay offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
Location – This role will be fully remote.
