Integral builds technologies to treat neurological and psychiatric disorders.
Our first device is a miniaturized, implanted, deep-brain interface for severely affected patients. It will have unprecedented capabilities for recording and modulating neural activity and for monitoring patients' symptoms.
This device will dramatically advance our ability to treat brain disorders and to understand their biological causes. We will use this unique discovery platform to develop an expanding range of more effective treatments that will ultimately be accessible to everyone.

Ian, Head of Hardware: Mechanical engineer, implant architect, and technical leader for 20-years; has seen 4 large medical device programs from concept to clinic
Milan, CEO: Neurotech venture builder formerly at Convergent Research; previously AI researcher and software engineer

What you'll do
You'll be responsible for solving mission-critical ME challenges across our device engineering efforts, including extreme miniaturization and integration, hermetic sealing, and novel feedthrough, connector, lead, and electrode designs.
As one of our first team members, you'll get to play a critical role in defining our engineering strategy and culture.
More specifically, you will:
Design and prototype key components of our first-generation implant and associated surgical tools and off-body hardware
Iterate with EEs, neuroscientists, surgeons, and compliance experts to define product specs
Apply cutting-edge ME technologies and methodologies from other industries to unsolved problems in implanted device development
Help build out our lab
Establish and manage relationships with vendors, partners, and consultants
Achieve the highest standards of reliability, safety, and supply chain resilience
We work full-time, in-person in South San Francisco.
Who we're looking for
You have:
A portfolio of impressive, relevant ME work
Cross-disciplinary expertise, including basic EE, SWE, industrial design, and new product introduction
The desire to get your hands dirty: you can drive CAD, run simulations, use hand tools, etc.
Deep understanding of fundamental ME principles
The need for speed
(Bonus) Experience with ME in heavily regulated industries
Neurotechnology experience is not necessary.
