Role And Responsibilities
The Mechanical Designer role is a core role in the Sapience Engineering team. Responsibilities include:
- Designing machines, robotic end-of-arm tools, fixtures, & stands for automation systems.
- Designing and documenting the mechanical layout of the automation system.
- When required, testing prototype designs of equipment
- Creating drawing packages for system installations· Creating manufacturing drawing packages for fabrication vendor· Providing remote support to Sapience team members on site for troubleshooting systems
- Occasionally, travelling to customer sites to assist with installation design and project support
- Proficient in Solidworks & AutoCAD
- 3+ years of experience in the automation industry
- Experience in machine design and robot end effectors
- Post high-school degree in a technical discipline
- Strong written and spoken language skills
- Proficient on PCs and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong benefits program included
- Must be willing to live and work On-site in Charleston, SC
- Must be able to prove Solidworks Proficiency during interview process.
