Saint Ignatius College Prep seeks applications for a Math Resource Center Support Staff. Saint Ignatius College Prep is a Catholic, Jesuit, urban, co-educational, college preparatory high school with 1,450 students in grades 9-12. Founded in 1869, the mission of the school is to prepare its diverse population of students for lives grounded in faith and characterized by integrity, lifelong learning, leadership, and compassionate service for others.
Position Description: The Math Resource Center Staff member academically supports students in math by providing supplemental help on the content demonstrated in math class. The Math Resource Center Staff reports to the Math Department Chair.
Qualifications
Evidence of ability and commitment to furthering the Jesuit, Catholic mission and identity of the school
Experience in high school setting, preferred
Evidence of strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills
Mastery of all high school math courses, from Algebra 1 through Calculus.
Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics or Teaching of Mathematics required (or working towards), Master’s preferred
Practicing Roman Catholic, preferred
Responsibilities Include
Conduct a professional, welcoming space for a variety of students with differing math needs
Supplement class instruction under the guidance and direction of instructors
Serve as a positive resource to students with a variety of mathematical questions
Provide guidance to students on their mathematical inquiries
Collaborate with Saint Ignatius Math teachers on curriculum
