The Market Research Analyst is responsible for providing actionable insights and intelligence to facilitate data driven decisions via ad hoc and/or secondary research. The successful candidate will have an understanding of product, customer, and market research methodologies (e.g., qual and quant) and know when to apply them. Due to the nature of intelligence needs that may arise, this candidate must be flexible / comfortable to cover many areas of the business, including navigating ambiguity.

Your Impact

  • Know how to understand and interpret defined business objectives and needs as well as identify gaps in knowledge and how to fill them
  • Develop data collection strategies, whether it be creating custom discussion guides and questionnaires or mining existing datasets, and research methodologies to best satisfy business objectives, needs, and knowledge gaps
  • Organize and conduct customer, prospect, and employee interviews and focus groups
  • Collect and review data to identify trends for brand, product, and competitive intelligence
  • Analyze data to produce thoughtful actionable insights and recommendations
  • Create executive level reports that communicate insights and recommendations in impactful ways
  • Build internal networks across the enterprise and work closely with partners and internal stakeholders to understand evolving business needs and strategies
  • Become a subject matter insights expert on brand, customer and product needs, and the competitive landscape
  • Develop a deep understanding of our brand and potentially develop and maintain a brand tracker as well as segmentations and persona-based profiles to be used in product development and sales and marketing materials
  • Ability to create a research plan from emergent business needs (i.e., get the ball rolling even though the objectives may not always be clearly defined)

There is no perfect candidate, but we are looking for:

  • Advanced degree (master’s or beyond) in research, science, psychology, communications, or business or bachelor’s degree with 3+ years industry/sector relevant work experience
  • Proficient with Excel, PowerPoint, Word (MSFT) applications
  • Proficiency with statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R, Q, SAS, SQL, etc.) a must
  • A big plus for experience efficiently navigating, interrogating, wrangling Census / government-generated data and Salesforce data
  • Experience working in technology and government and government technology
  • Passionately curious about what drives decision making and purchasing behavior
  • Desire to learn with a “no stone goes unturned” mentality
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time in a fast-paced environment
  • Autonomously manage time and ability to prioritize workload and set boundaries
  • Technically capable, excellent communicator, and a desire to improve processes
  • Team collaborator with customer service/ research mentality

Compensation And Benefits

  • Estimated Salary Range: $70,300 - $101,300 – Full grade range annually. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and is based on a 40-hour work week.
