Job Responsibilities:
Work on a multi-disciplinary team to develop a complex medical device
Lead manufacturing activities including design, development, and validation of assembly and testing equipment
Assist in implementation of in-house inventory management and manufacturing procedures
Assemble and qualify parts for system testing and clinical studies
Provide design input to improve manufacturability and servicing of parts
Create and maintain manufacturing documentation including BOMs, work instructions, and workflow processes
Validate, qualify, and document manufacturing equipment (IQ/OQ/PQ)
Identify and assess process risks and mitigations and maintain process FMEA documentation
Train and support technicians
Assist with procurement and supplier quality activities
Work closely with other disciplines including quality management, electrical, mechanical, and software engineers
Education/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering-related field
2+ years of experience in manufacturing, experience in medical device field or other highly-regulated industry preferred
Candidates with additional experience will be considered for higher level positions.
Skill/Knowledge Requirements:
Excellent hands-on fabrication and assembly skills
Excellent mechanical engineering fundamentals in the areas of, materials and design for manufacturing, (injection molding, CNC machining, bent sheet metal, etc.)
Experience designing mechanical assemblies and creating engineering drawings for manufacturing
Experience designing and documenting verification and qualification tests
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Must be self-motivated and able to balance multiple projects simultaneously
