Job Responsibilities:

  • Work on a multi-disciplinary team to develop a complex medical device
  • Lead manufacturing activities including design, development, and validation of assembly and testing equipment
  • Assist in implementation of in-house inventory management and manufacturing procedures
  • Assemble and qualify parts for system testing and clinical studies
  • Provide design input to improve manufacturability and servicing of parts
  • Create and maintain manufacturing documentation including BOMs, work instructions, and workflow processes
  • Validate, qualify, and document manufacturing equipment (IQ/OQ/PQ)
  • Identify and assess process risks and mitigations and maintain process FMEA documentation
  • Train and support technicians
  • Assist with procurement and supplier quality activities
  • Work closely with other disciplines including quality management, electrical, mechanical, and software engineers


Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering-related field
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, experience in medical device field or other highly-regulated industry preferred
  • Candidates with additional experience will be considered for higher level positions.


Skill/Knowledge Requirements:

  • Excellent hands-on fabrication and assembly skills
  • Excellent solid modelling skills (Solidworks preferred)
  • Excellent mechanical engineering fundamentals in the areas of, materials and design for manufacturing, (injection molding, CNC machining, bent sheet metal, etc.)
  • Experience designing mechanical assemblies and creating engineering drawings for manufacturing
  • Experience designing and documenting verification and qualification tests
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be self-motivated and able to balance multiple projects simultaneously
