Job Description

Smart Meetings is offering an exciting opportunity for a seasoned travel magazine editor to have a meaningful impact at a growing, award-winning B2B publication in the hospitality and meetings space. You will be on the leading edge of multi-media publishing and will mentor promising young journalists on their career track while traveling to some of the most spectacular properties in the world and experiencing new ways of bringing people together. This hybrid role is based in Sausalito and will require working out of the office during regular business hours.

  • Required Skills:
  • 5-7 years as a B2B journalist, preferably with an understanding of the hospitality and meetings industry and event tech
  • Must have staff management experience.
  • Familiarity with Wordpress, Adobe and project management software,
  • As a member of the editorial team, this key contributor will write magazine and digital stories, copyedit for style, SEO, impact and maximum utility for our target audience of professional meeting and event planners.
  • Copyedit and traffic copy through publishing process, working collaboratively with the editorial team and award-winning production department.
  • Represent the company at conferences and on trips.
  • This experienced B2B publication producer will also be responsible for mentoring younger writers, developing industry sources, working on special projects to leverage the publication’s reach in the community.
  • Creative, collaborative spirit focused on creating the best product possible.
  • On site position based in Sausalito.
