Your role as a Manager, Marketing:

You will create and execute multichannel marketing campaigns to build brand affinity, drive attendance, and generate revenue for the Padres and Petco Park events. This role will collaborate with other departments and groups within the Marketing team to support key business initiatives.

All the responsibilities we will trust you with:

  • Managing marketing campaigns in support of Padres key initiatives including but not limited to ticket sales, partnerships, hospitality, and special events
  • Creating, curating and calendaring owned communications including emails, text messages, and push notifications to support key marketing, ticket, community, and other organizational initiatives
  • Writing copy for emails, digital ads, webpages, graphics, and other marketing collateral
  • Collaborating directly with the creative services team to develop promotional assets (e.g., email, in-game, videoboard, website) as well as updating and maintaining ballpark signage
  • Working closely with the sales team in support of single game tickets, group ticket initiatives (e.g., suites, hospitality spaces, theme games) as well as the special events team in support of concerts and non-baseball events
  • Managing Padres.com and MLB Ballpark App content updates, finding ways to deliver a positive user experience and increase traffic YoY
  • Collaborating with other members of the marketing team on giveaways, social media content, and deploying ‘Know Before You Go’ communications to event attendees
  • Utilizing analytics to review campaign performance, adjust and improve marketing efforts, as well as report out on key learnings and top-line results
  • Tracking and reporting media campaigns, measuring campaign effectiveness, reporting on partnership activations and impact, and providing key insights to adjust
  • Supporting radio/TV media promotions to enhance exposure of games/events
  • Overseeing the Padres in-game broadcast drop-ins, as well as monitoring Padres advertising on radio and TV
  • Working closely with other departments within the organization on various strategic initiatives to drive the business
  • Represents the Club in a positive and professional manner at all times
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Proficient computer skills including experience with MS Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc., and general knowledge of basic office equipment including copier, laser printer, telephone, and computer
  • Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and effectively work well with others in a collaborative, respectful manner
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills with capacity to handle high volumes of detailed work, multi-task and manage projects on strict deadlines
  • Maintain professional demeanor with a high degree of discretion, integrity, and accountability
  • Maintain consistent, punctual, and reliable attendance


You will be required to meet the following:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of employment
  • 4-year Bachelor’s Degree, or education equivalent, preferably in Marketing, Advertising, Journalism, Communications, Business, or other closely related fields
  • Minimum 3-5 years previous experience in related marketing and/or advertising roles; sports experience not necessary
  • Fluently bilingual in English/Spanish a plus
  • Able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays, special events, Padres home games and extended hours as needed
  • Minimum physical requirements: able to travel to and gain access to various areas of the ballpark for prolonged periods of time during games and events; able to lift and transport up to 25 pounds
  • As a condition of employment, you must successfully complete all post-offer, pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check


Salary and additional compensation:

Per the California pay transparency law, the base salary range for this full-time position is $65,000 to $80,000. As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, job-related skills and any other factors the San Diego Padres considers relevant to the hiring decision for this position.
