Talent Consultant - System Leadership at Piedmont Healthcare

Responsible for cultivating and stewarding an active portfolio of 75-125 major donors (greater than

$10,000 per year) through best practice development techniques in order to secure philanthropic support to meet annual goals. Manages and leads strategic development donor acquisition efforts for cultivation and support from newly identified prospects. Engages key stakeholders within Piedmont Healthcare (Physicians, Clinicians, Leadership, etc.) to execute strategies for prospective donor identification and cultivation. Leads outreach efforts for vendor support for capital, operational or event support. Leads and executes a broad development strategy for a major strategic service line of Piedmont Healthcare or assigned unique market targets as determined by the organization (i.e. Cardiovascular, Oncology, Transplant, Neurosciences, Unique Market Targets, etc.). Prepares foundation and corporate grant requests and stewards foundation and corporate funder relationships. Ensures all donors are stewarded through a Moves Management development process. Establishes and maintains effective relationships within Piedmont Healthcare. Maintains knowledge of current events, healthcare trends and fundraising trends within the Piedmont system and healthcare in general.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


1. Manages active portfolio of prospective and current major donors and solicits contributions, achieving agreed upon benchmark targets and closures. Leads strategy for new donor acquisition.


2. Targeted active portfolio ranges from 75 125 qualified prospects and donors.


3. Identifies donors and prospective donors and cultivates an ongoing relationship designed to move prospect to a greater level of engagement with Piedmont Healthcare.


4. Makes personal contact with annual donors at the $10,000 annual level or minimum of $50,000 level and above (over 3 5 years of total giving) to cultivate the relationship and to gain a better appreciation of the donors interest in Piedmont.


5. Actively records all donor interaction within Raisers Edge database.


6. Establishes measurable activities with donor portfolio to accomplish development goals that support long-term, private support to the hospital.


7. Prepares grant requests and corporate proposals as defined by job responsibilities.


8. Works closely with other Foundation staff, the healthcare foundation board/volunteers, administrative leadership, medical staff leadership, volunteers and others important to execute campaigns.



9. Establishes and maintains an effective relationship with all partners of Piedmont Healthcare.


10. Prepares periodic reports for the Foundation team, volunteer leaders, administrators and donors.


11. Maintains current knowledge of nonprofit philanthropy trends, development best practices, healthcare trends, and relevant current events.


12. Maintains a current knowledge of the philanthropic community, i.e., how others in the non-profit community are doing and where donor loyalty and support resides.


13. Follows current events at a local, state, regional, national and international level so as to better understand the dynamics that affect healthcare and the philanthropic environment.


14. Participates in professional development organizations and associations.


15. Attends educational seminars and meetings, as approved, for professional development.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES


Excellent oral and written communication skills.


Confident and comfortable conversing with volunteer leaders, donors, administration and prospects in both social and business surroundings.


Ability to work with senior executives, physicians, hospital staff, volunteers, Auxilians, and key volunteers from the community and corporations.


Leadership skills, initiative and good judgment to make sound decisions.


Versed in computer and Internet communications.

Qualifications:


MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:


Bachelors degree in Communications, Marketing, Development, Business, or a closely related field is required.



MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:


Seven (7) years of responsible professional work experience in development, marketing, communications or a closely related field is required.


Three (3) of the seven (7) years must involve development related activities.


Demonstrated results in initiating relationships, cultivating interests and securing support and participation.


Experience with a donor database system is required.
