Luxury Field Sales Manager

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Luxury Field Sales Manager is responsible for managing/growing Hess Persson Estates brands within Lighthouse Accounts with focus on key metropolitan cities. This involves the Planning/Pre-Selling, Execution, Performance Evaluation, and Course-Correcting of programs in designated accounts. This role is responsible for Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Build strong business relationships with wine buyers and influencers in the designated Lighthouse Accounts.
  • Execute Distribution Priorities for our Lions Head and Hess Collection Luxury portfolios.
  • Conduct daily retail store account visits in Lighthouse Accounts to merchandise Luxury wines.
  • Execute quarterly volume and Distribution Goals that are broken out by item.
  • Track the progress to goal and report weekly feedback that progress to New England Division Manager.
  • Conduct consumer tasting, education seminars and activation in top retail accounts.
  • Conduct staff trainings, wine dinners, and events with top on premise accounts
  • Conduct wholesaler sales meetings and trainings, expose the brands to sales reps, buyers and consumers via tastings and trade shows.
  • Execute Programs within market A&P budget, as well as Travel and Entertainment budget.
  • Plan and discuss in advance Calendar activities with Division Manager.
  • Report monthly expenses in a timely fashion.

Qualifications Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or the equivalent) with at least four years of distributor sales management experience, gained within either a Distributor or wine supplier environment.
  • The candidate must be able to travel locally at least 80% of the time, with occasional out-of-state travel to support sales blitzes.
  • The candidate must reside in Massachusetts, with preference to Boston.
  • Proven experience and track record in designing, developing, and implementing distributor management plans that achieved sales goals.
  • Demonstrated success in pricing and budget management
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in negotiation and sales skills
  • Demonstrated ability in setting expectations and accountability including managing difficult conversations
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Wine education credentials a plus
  • Must have a valid state driver’s license.
