Logistics Manager

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Logistics Manager/Senior Logistics Specialist to join our client's team and play a key role in overseeing the entire logistics, import/export, and distribution operations.
Full-time Opportunity
5-days per week onsite (this is not a hybrid role)
Established business experiencing growth
Inbound Logistics
1. Logistics Vendor Management:
- Coordinated with suppliers to schedule deliveries and ensure timely receipt of materials.
- Manage relationships with vendors, negotiate contracts, and monitor supplier performance.
2. Warehousing:
- Coordinate with warehouse personnel to ensure efficient storage and handling of incoming
materials.
- Manage negotiations to establish optimal rental rates for all 3PL warehouses.
3. Transportation Planning:
- Arrange transportation for inbound shipments, select carriers and schedule deliveries.
- Optimize transportation routes and modes to minimize costs and meet delivery
requirements.
- Negotiate with transportation providers to secure improved rates.
- Ensure timely pickup of inbound containers, accounting for demurrage-free periods to
minimize additional costs.
Inventory Management & Sales Operations
1. Demand Planning and Stock Allocation:
- Monitor stock availability to ensure inventory availability for outbound shipments.
- Coordinate with Plant Manager to plan required inventory replenishment.
- Promptly notify sales team of aging inventory or overstock items that must move; coordinate
with sales team to facilitate the sale of aging inventory or overstock items.
2. Trade Procurement:
- Collaborate with the General Manager and Sales Team to plan and secure volume allocation for import to U.S. warehouses.
Outbound Logistics:
3. Order Processing and Order Fulfillment:
- Process customer orders, including allocation/picking, packing and preparing product for
shipment.
4. Shipping Coordination:
- Coordinate outbound shipments with carriers, arranging transportation and scheduling
pick-ups.
- Conduct carrier negotiations to secure competitive and cost-effective transport rates.
- Prepare shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing lists, and customs
documentation.
- Optimize delivery volumes by prioritizing full truckload (FTL) shipments over less-that-truckload (LTL) shipments, to ensure efficient utilization of transportation resources and to
lower costs.
5. Customer Service:
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding order status, shipment tracking, delivery
schedules.
- Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to outbound shipments, coordinating with
internal teams and external partners as needed.
