Localization Project Manager

SimulTrans is seeking a Localization Project Manager for our Mountain View, California office.

Your Duties

• Manage software localization and document translation projects, lasting from a few hours to a few months
• Make customers insanely happy by communicating quickly and cheerfully while exceeding their schedule and quality expectations
• Use industry-leading translation management tools, such as Phrase, Smartling, Transifex, memoQ, and XTM
• Use databases, spreadsheets, and other tools to track projects
• Select and lead project team members (translators, engineers, publishers, etc.)
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers
• Flexibly communicate with clients and colleagues in other time zones
• Create and manage project budgets and schedules
• Check translated files to confirm integrity and identify potential linguistic or technical issues
• Prepare project status reports for clients and colleagues

Your Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of localization or translation project management experience
• Hands-on experience with translation management systems
• Technical focus, including an overview understanding of the software development process
• A keen eye for detail; for example, is that an em dash (—) or an en dash (–) that appears in a document whose translation you are managing?
• Superb organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Excellent English communication skills, both in writing and in speaking
• Superior ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• A self-starting, proactive, and charismatic attitude
• A passion for technology and international cultures
• Located in the Mountain View, California area
• Willingness to work in our Mountain View, California office 2–3 days each week and more frequently during the initial training period
• Legal authorization to work in the United States (SimulTrans is unable to provide visa sponsorship)
