Linux System Administrator/Automation Engineer

V-Soft Consulting is currently hiring for a Linux System Administrator/Automation Engineer for our premier client in Chicago, Illinois.

Education And Experience »

• 3+ years’ experience designing, deploying and supporting large scale Linux/Unix server environments.
• Experience within a high-performance computer environment where the result matters.
• Linux Administration, Python Coding/Scripting.
• Nice to Have: Ansible.
  
  

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities »

• Good knowledge of Linux Kernel internals.
• Knowledge of virtualization and networking.
• A developer mindset to help build the right tools for continual improvement.
• Solid coding skills in Python and a strong desire to automate.
• Infrastructure-as-Code with an Ansible flavor.
• A proactive approach to problem solving.
  
  

What You’ll Do

Job Responsibilities:

• Tackle the life cycle of a server and build and deploy new solutions.
• Performance monitoring and managing the system capacity.
• Fix and analyze technical incidents, solve technical ad hoc problems.
• Research new technologies and solutions, implement them or build better.
• Be the connection between hardware and software.
