Linux Administrator and Backend Developer

We are looking for a Linux/Unix Administrator who is able to take the initiative to improve our system and services. The successful candidate will have strong problem solving skills, an ability to multitask, and excellent interpersonal skills. You will be working as part of the critical design and implementation of our new and existing systems and should have experience with both on-premise (detached) and in-cloud environments.

A successful candidate will encompass most or all of the following skillsets:

• Internals of the Linux system and able to customize distributions to fit deployable hardware (Ubuntu or others)
• Competent in building hardware from manufactured components
• Experience with TCP/IP networking and 801.11, Bluetooth, Cellular and IoT wireless protocols
• Excellent skills in bash, python, golang programming
• Experienced with back-end web services (flask, gin, websocket, REST, gRPC, etc)
• Able to build self-contained systems that are able to withstand isolation
• Able to build and manage interconnected systems using puppet, ansible, or other like components
• Able to build and manage cloud and on-hardware storage, database and caching systems
• Experienced with automation tools such as terraform
• Strong documentation skills (writing and diagramming)
• Comfortable communicating with customers as-needed in pre and post sales scenarios
  

This position requires an individual who can work well with a wide range of people from all over the globe, company personnel and customers alike, who are responsible for maintaining operating the installation of LOCH products.

Due to the use of hardware and testing equipment work at the office will be required some of the time. Work-from-home is possible when situations are suitable.
