Lead, Sales Engineer

As a Lead Sales Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in selling our innovative solutions to both new and existing accounts. Your focus will be on strategic global accounts, guiding account planning, and leading a talented sales team across complex multi-region/multi-metro sales.

Responsibilities

Technical Consulting and Sales Support:

Identify customer business needs, challenges, and technical requirements, aligning them with our solutions.

Serve as a subject matter expert for our products, technologies, and industry landscape.

Utilize internal processes and client feedback to shape company policies, procedures, and products.

Provide comprehensive sales support to assigned regional and/or global customers, offering guidance to team members and mentoring Sales Engineering colleagues.

Solution Design And Deliverables

Engage with senior stakeholders, potentially C-level executives, to deliver high-level technical solution design expertise.

Develop and refine standard practices and procedures to enhance customer deliverables.

Independently produce complex RFI/RFP submissions as requested by Sales Representatives.

Customer Service

Communicate with customers, both internal and external, in a professional, friendly, and effective manner.

Drive pre-sales efforts across all company products and services.

Deliver outstanding technical support in sales presentations, customer meetings, and industry events.

Anticipate and resolve complex customer issues promptly.

Business And Market Expertise

Maintain an excellent understanding of technology trends in the market.

Demonstrate exceptional knowledge of Equinix data center, network, and cloud products and services.

Stay informed about the competitive landscape.

Collaboration/Communication

Identify and pursue new business opportunities while nurturing existing customer relationships.

Influence internal teams to ensure seamless project transitions from pre-sales to post-sales.

Foster a positive team culture and demonstrate outstanding presentation skills.

Team Leadership

Lead initiatives and team projects aimed at enhancing organizational efficiency.

Provide team and thought leadership, establishing yourself as a subject matter expert.

Requirements

Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years' experience; or equivalent experience.

Demonstrated expertise in sales engineering or a related field.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.

Salary Information

The targeted pay range for this position varies based on location and is reflective of On-Target Earnings (OTE), comprising base pay plus commissions. Additional factors such as skills, experience, and education may influence individual pay. Equity may also be offered depending on the role.
